This one was tricky. Fun, but tricky. Since it was a very simple 2-instrument recording (Guitar and drums, or bass and drums, plus vocals) and it appeared to have been recorded without overdubs, there was a distinct need to make it sound “big” without stepping all over the rawness of the songs. Mostly it meant some multiband compression in the midrange to even out the vocal dynamics by a decibel or two so the kick drum and low end could be pushed a little further up.
