What We Charge
Sigh. This is the tricky part.
For basic mastering, we charge on a per-track basis. The base price is $15/track, although this base price can be adjusted upwards or downwards depending on things like track length or difficulty. We won't charge you the full $15 for a 10-second "interlude" track, but we won't charge you $15 for a single 40-minute track either. We're assuming an average 4-5 minute track, give or take. If a track requires a lot of tweaking and special processing to compensate for recording or mixing errors, that'll bump up the price. If the track is basically flawless and doesn't need anything, the price goes down.
There are additional potential surcharges for things like format conversion or additional prep work. If we agree that you'll deliver 24-bit wav files and you send a disc of non-interleaved SDII that I have to combine and convert, that'll accrue a surcharge. If the data you deliver is missing a few tracks and I have to download them from a friend's website, that'll accrue the surcharge. If you deliver three unlabeled CDs wrapped in newspaper (this has actually happened) it'll accrue the surcharge. These are all rare cases, though. For other services, such as mixing, recording, or production, it's generally by the hour. It's best to email for a quote.
